In his debut ODI innings in Sylhet, he scored a remarkable 92 off 85 balls, setting a record for the highest score by a Bangladeshi on ODI debut. Apart from his exploits in Bangladesh’s domestic leagues, Hridoy has also played in the Sri Lankan Premier League for Jaffna Kings, gaining valuable experience in foreign conditions.
In February 2024, he further stamped his authority in T20 cricket by smashing his maiden T20 century for Comilla Victorians in the BPL, helping his team chase a target of 176. His dominant batting displays led to his inclusion in Bangladesh’s squad for the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
