Varun Chakraborty Biography:Varun Chakravarthy (born August 29, 1991) is an Indian international cricketer who plays as the Leg Spin Bowl for the National Team. He made his T20I international debut in July 2021 and became the second oldest player after Farookh engineer made his debut on the Indian cricket team in ODI in February 2025.
Varun Chakraborty Early Life and Education
Chakravarthy was born on August 29, 1991 in Bidar, Karnataka. His father, Vinod Chakravarthy, an executive at BSNL, is half-tamilic and semi-malayali, while his mother, Marini, is Kannadiga. He grew up in Adhyar, Chennai.
He trained in Chennai, Kendriya Vidya Raya Kruli, then at Anglo-Indian High School in St. Patrick, where he played cricket as a wicketkeeper, but quit the sport to concentrate on the academy. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture from SRM University. At age 25, he gave up his job as an architect to pursue cricket professionally. A knee injury in early 2017 was without surgery for six months, so he started bowling.

He debuted the Tamil Nadu list on September 20, 2018 at Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018–19. He made his first class debut in Tamil Nadu on November 12, 2018 at the Ranji Trophy 2018/19. He made his Twenty20 debut for the team on March 27, 2019. His first over came to 25 runs. He was released from Kings XI Punjab prior to the 2020 IPL auction. At IPL Auction 2020, Kolkata Knight Riders purchased it in front of the Indian Premier League 2020. On October 24, 2020, he received his first five wing transport in the IPL with five gate numbers on 20 runs against Delhi Capitals in Abu Dhabi. [19] He was the best wicket track for Kolkata Knight Riders at IPL Tournament 2020 2020. On November 9, 2020, Chakrabart was removed from the team after the injury. In February 2021 he was appointed for her series against England on the Indian T20I team.
In June 2021 he was appointed to a series between India’s One Day International (ODI) and Sri Lanka in the T20I team. Varun Chakravarthy appeared as a club cricketer in the Indian Tamil sports drama film Jeeva. On December 11, 2020, he married his longtime girlfriend Neha Kedekar at a closure ceremony in Chennai.On May 3, 2021, Varun Chakravarthy was tested positive for Covid-19 along with his teammates from the Kolkata Knight Riders Sandep Warrier. As a result, the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers against Bangalore was deported. In the end, the tournament was stopped.
